The original Prusa buffer is the right idea, but not quite the right execution. The problem is the buffer shape. The inlet side is the fat side. Once you feed in filament using the PTFE tubes, you cannot grab the filament to guide it to the other side. Filament spends its life on a spool and wants to bend. When loading the filament, more often than not the filament would shoot out the wrong spot. The original buffer is also black so you cannot see inside to adjust the filament as you feed it. It is very difficult to use.
This buffer uses symmetric plates so you can feed filament through more easily.
