5 inch Subwoofer Enclosure

I wanted to replace my decade old logitec z506 setup for my pc - this is better.

I designed this ported subwoofer box for a 5inch driver i found on aliexpress. Its paired with 3" full range drivers in sealed boxes i designed.

It is double walled and intended to be filled with a dampening plaster mix. This can be achieved by pouring in the opening and either tapping or using a tool to vibrate the box to help it settle throughout. The process was simple, i used a palm sander with a soft cloth to vibrate and settle my mix of plaster and pva.

- Fill top first
- Insert m4 nuts in top
-Glue/epoxy bottom to top, and screw in m4 screws to help clamp
- When epoxy is set, fill from bottom.
-I used epoxy in the front gap to secure the connection and to make sure there was no vibration or rattle

I used m3 heat press inserts to mount the driver, and I used 2 conductor audio cable with a 6mm OD, which is friction fit/pulled through the back.

I've encluded a bezel guard to cover the mounting screws. It pushes onto the bolt heads (M3 Socket hex)

Box and port tuned for driver, flat to 35hz with no DSP or EQ shenanigens.

Ive encluded a non-cut version if you have the space to print it in one shot. The cut version is pre-supported.

Whole system stomps the Logitec Z506 in quality and intensity.

Few weeks of heavy use and zero problems. every thing still super solid.
I made a new alternative bezel/guard that matches the speakers and stops me putting my foot through the cone :)
