Summary
This is a storage box used to store all the extra parts your Kotobukiya Rockman Zero kit comes with. It doubles as a life bar effects piece that can be displayed along side your model.
Options
The box is a fully upgraded “32 pip” size life bar from the SNES games. This version, for now, only has the “Zero” logo.
The door pops in place. I included a few versions to meet your preference: A right handed swing, a left handed swing, both with or without face plate mounts.
There is a 3mm peg hole on each end of the life bar that can be used with Kotobukiya's New Flying Base, or like display stands.
The door mounted connector will allow for 3 Zet-Saber blades to be stored. It can also be removed for easy access.
Print Settings
The life bar looks snappy if you change the color mid print, with a black back ground and yellow foreground. In PrusaSlicer, at 0.25mm Structural settings, the life bar comes out to 10 layers. Layer 7 is the best layer to change colors.
The last layer of the Z Logo can also be color swapped for a nice effect. I printed in red, then yellow, but the yellow came out a bit orange so it looks even better.
The lids are printed best face down, with 0.1mm Fast Detail in PrusaSlicer and supports on build plate. Supports on the latch are optional.
The box is best printed back down, and support on the latch is recommended.
Print the Parts Tree flat, to prevent weak layer lines on the pegs. It's designed to be printed that way (taking a few lessons from the Dummy13)
Notes
Everything is designed to snap in place with no glue. As such, the parts on the face plate are a tight fit. What I did to make it work was I pushed them in enough to get started and then I placed them face down on a wooden countertop and snapped em into place. This works best when the box is assembled first.
The parts tree is printed with 3mm pegs for hands. It also has a single right angle mount for the alternate arm parts. Some additional options are available to store unused saber parts. There are three tabs for alternate face parts as well.
Note that the storage box cannot, of course, store some of the larger optional parts.
To Do
I plan to make an X1 boss (skull) and X2 (Sigma logo) version. As well as a unique Axl version.
