🇲🇽 ¡Bienvenidos a CDMX!
Welcome to Mexico City!

As an homage to Mexico's capital city, Dany Sánchez of MiniWorld3D created the most complete set of its landmarks and famous buildings circa 2015. There are many buildings in the set, so it is published in parts, each containing a few buildings following a theme.

  1. Zocalo
  2. Reforma top skyscrapers
  3. Monumental buildings
  4. Other high rises
  5. Modernist buildings
  6. Chapultepec
  7. El Angel area
  8. Tlatelolco

Part 6 is Chapultepec

An immense park within the city that is home to the zoo, many museums, monuments, and one of the most remarkable landmarks: the Castle of Chapultepec.

El Castillo de Chapultepec is the only properly named "castle" in the Americas. It was built in 1785 atop of the hill that gives the castle and park its name (Hill of the Grasshopper in Nahuatl). It has been residence to Emperors such as Maximillian of Habsburg, and the setting for one of the most important battles in the Mexican-American war in 1847, when it was a military academy under siege by American forces. The invading US army took the castle and the city, while young cadets died heroically defending it. Mexico honors their sacrifice with a monument of six marble columns at the foot of the Hill built in 1952, el Monumento a los Niños Héroes.

Lastly, a much more recent landmark is a 100 m tall monument built in 2011 to commemorate the Bicentennial of Mexico's Independence, la Estela de Luz (Stele of Light). It is placed right between the Chapultepec park, below the Castle and Monument, and right at the beginning of the Reforma Avenue, directly in front of the Reforma Giant buildings .
