My mailbox accumulates water at the bottom when it rains or is humid outside, which will damage my mail. So I designed this grid to fit at the bottom of my mailbox that will raise the mail from the humidity.

This is a customizable openscad script where you can choose the size of the your mailbox as well as the thickness of the grid. Because your mailbox might be bigger than your print plate, this will also split the piece in multiple parts to fit on your plate and place little feet on each parts.

You can also choose to add a text into the grid, this is done by doing a cutout over two lines. You can do that to add your name/address inside your mailbox if you feel like it, or a nice message for your mailperson.

The script doesn't actually generate a grid, slicers are very good at that, the steps to use this is:

1. use openscad to customize it, if you don't have it, you can paste the content of the file at: https://ochafik.com/openscad2, rendre and download the STL
2. in your slicer, set the print to have 0 top and bottom shelf/layers.
3. choose an infill that you like, honeycomb or grid work well, adjust the % based on your preferences.
4. print one part at a time, upside down, so the feet print at the top and you won't need supports or rafts.

I suggest using the latest version of Orca slicer where you can specify multiline infills, which will make the grid stronger.

In the pictures, I printed the infill fast with a cheap filament, so it's full of errors, I suggest lowering the infill print speed if you want a nicer result.
