Pacific Parrotlet Figurine – 3D Printable Model
This Pacific Parrotlet figurine is a fun 3D print project and makes a perfect piece for DIY painting. It looks nice straight off the printer, but it’s at its cutest when brought to life with realistic colors, as you can see among the pics.
Features:
Original design – modeled, sculpted, and test-printed by me.
Scalable – can be resized to fit your liking (not recommended below 75% of original size).
Great for DIY painting projects – Pacific parrotlets come in many beautiful color mutations, so you can pick your favorite and turn your print into a lifelike bird figurine.
Print Settings (tested sample):
Material: PETG (tested)
Nozzle: 0.6 mm
Layer Height: 0.15 mm
Supports: Required (organic supports recommended)
Notes:
The sculpt and the stl is very dense but I include the .blend file to have the freedom of edit (decimate).
Works well in PETG, but PLA and similar filaments should also be fine.
Resin printers would likely produce even finer results, though I have not tested.
A smaller nozzle and thinner layer height can improve detail quality.
I sanded and primed mine to achieve a smooth, paint-ready surface.
Scaling too small may reduce detail and stability (legs may become too thin)
