i saw a similar version on the net wich was build in wood. Looked nice for a printed version.
so i made my own version in fusion360.
You need 14 11mm stell balls, two 5mm rods (smooth or threaded will do) about 35 long and two bearings, 13x4x 5 (inner) an a thread for starting the spin an a bunch of 3mm screws :)
if you pull the string, it should be on the underside of the axel. So the axel spins “forward”.
My first version had chambers for weights. But it turned out that is not necessary. so i modified it to save material. Also i glued the sheet to the axle . Better is to secure it with a pin (second version) so one can swap the axel when it might wear out from the beating of the balls :)
i printed all parts in PLA, some in PLA+
the horses, sliders have to be printed 4x. I also printed the disks in 4 different colours.
since i had one bearing with 5mm hight, i added a block for that size too.
i prepared all holes with a 3mm tap.
