After my bike got stolen and I was lucky enough of getting it back, I decided to get a Tracker for it. I decided for a Chipolo Pop, as it's cheap and works with android. After getting it i just needed a place to put it on my bike, somewhere that is not in plain sight, but it will get bluetooth connection. I figured out that hiding it on the frame isn't going to work because the tag will loose wireless connection, attaching it from the outside of the frame will be a little obvous, so i think that on the sattle is a good spot. I also found out that the one used on my bike has two screw holes M5 for attaching an addapter for bottle cages and they are perfect for holding the tag. so i decided to 3D Print a holder for the Chipolo.
Additional HW:
- 2x M5x14 or x16 Hex screws
- 2x M3x8 or x10 Hex screws
- 2x M5 Heatset inserts
Setup:
- Insert the heatset inserts from the back on the small holes on the body part.
- Place the Chipolo POP in the middle of both pieces
- Screw both pieces with the M3 screws
- Finally mount the thing on the Silink screw holes with the M5 screws
The case has holes to be able to press the Chipolo while mounted. For replaceing the battery its only needed to take the M3 screw. out.
