Modular Box System for KISTENBERG / Prosperplast NORT 12 Organizer

This project introduces a fully modular system of boxes designed specifically for the KISTENBERG / Prosperplast NORT 12 Organizer.
 

Unlike the standard NORT12 configuration that relies on fixed separator plates, this new modular approach uses a set of custom 3D-printable boxes that fit into the NORT12 compartments — providing far greater flexibility, organization, and ease of use.

🧩 Overview

The system contains 8 different box types available in 4 standardized sizes:

• 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, and 2x the size of a default NORT12 compartment.

Types:

• A - standard 0.5x size box
• B -  standard 1.0x size box
• C - standard 1.5x size box
• D - front row outer 1.0x size box
• E - front row inner right 1.0x size box
• F - front row inner left 1.0x size box
• G - front row left 2.0x size box
• H - front row right 2.0x size box

This range allows countless layout combinations and configurations. Whether you need more small boxes for screws or a few large compartments for bulky items — you can easily customize the organizer to match your workflow.

⚙ Advantages over the standard NORT12 layout

• Modular and movable – Since the system uses boxes instead of fixed dividers, you can freely rearrange or remove boxes as needed. For example, you can lift out a box of screws, use it at your workbench, and then slot it back in later.
• Flexible positioning – The main box types (A–B–C) are designed so they can be placed with 0.5-compartment offsets, allowing you to fine-tune layouts for smaller items or create space for new ones without reconfiguring the entire organizer.
• Label-ready design – Every box includes an integrated label holder, making it easy to mark each compartment (e.g., screw diameter, head type, material, etc.) for quick identification. NOTE: for labels to fit into the label holder they should have a size of approx. 13x9mm). Note also there is a small side stopper designed to prevent the label from falling out, which may be a bit irritating when placing the label - it can be easily cut out manually if needed).
• Built-in handles – All boxes feature a small ergonomic handle, making it easy to pull them out from the organizer, even when tightly packed.
• No supports required – All models are optimized for support-free printing, ensuring clean prints and efficient use of filament.
• Consistent fit – Note that actual NORT12 organizers can vary slightly in size. Even within a single unit, some compartments (especially side ones) may have slightly different dimensions. As a result, the fit may range from snug to loose in certain areas — however, all boxes remain compatible and fully functional.

➕ Additional Features

Dedicated front-row boxes (1x and 2x sizes) are included, designed specifically for the front compartments that don’t use separator plates in the original organizer.

The modular system supports mixing and matching across the NORT12 layout, so you can easily rearrange the setup as your storage needs evolve.

🧱 Printing & Assembly

• Support-free design – All models are printable without supports.
• Recommended layer height: 0.2 mm or finer for best fit.
• Material: PLA or PETG recommended (for better durability).
• Infill: ~15–20% is sufficient for standard use.
