This is a simple replacement hinge for the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones, that comes in handy, when your hinge breaks.
Note, that this part is for the RIGHT hinge, If your left hinge is broken, just mirror the Earpiece part/
To install it, first follow this repair guide for opening them up: This is a simple replacement hinge for the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones, that comes in handy, when your hinge breaks.
Watch it until you have the hinge on your broken side removed.
Once you are at this step, take a look at the side of the Bracket, where the Cable passes through. Instead of removing the connector and pushing the cable through, you can CAREFULLY snip off the plastic of the swivel-pin holding the cable in. After this, you can remove the cable.
This shows my hinge, which I snapped of like this.
After this, you can assemble the replacement hinge by glueing the ‘Earpiece’ and the ‘Hinge_top’ together on the small plastic notch. After this, use two M3 screws and bolts to clamp the hinge part onto the metal swivel on the headband using the ‘Hinge_ring’ part. Next, guide the cable back to the swivel band and you are ready to assemble your headphones back together and enjoy!
