I wanted the filter to be easily replacable without tools. This design is optimised for 3d printing, needs no support.

Modular Prusa Core One Filtration Unit

I designed this with quick, tool-less filter changes and supportless printing in mind.

Should you want to use the printer without this filtration unit, you can easily remove the insert assembly and disable the filtration in the menu.

The Insert and Body features a circumferential groove to create an airtight seal. This ensures all air pulled by the fan passes through the filter.

I also added the Body without cutout for the Grid, should you want to remix it yourself.

 17.01.26:

Modified Body:

  • Added versions that use M4 to fasten the fan.

  • The cable channel now faces to the right when facing the printers backside. Ensures the printers Cable Cover can be opened.

Removed Gasket, added Bar:

  • Makes it easier to print the assembly as you dont need TPU anymore. Seals the Insert against the printers backside.

Modified Insert:

  • Added Grip.

  • Changed geometry

24.01.26:

Modified Bar:

  • Added a bevel to Bar.

Modified Insert:

  • Corrected space for filter.

Required Hardware:
  • 7x M3x8 screws (4x M3x8 +3x M4x10)

  • 3x M3 nuts (3x M4 nuts)

  • 1x 120x120x32 blower fan (Prusa/Blurolls)

  • Filter (120x120x40) (Prusa/Blurolls)

Printing Instructions:

I printed the Grid first and placed it into the Body print using Prusaslicers pause feature.

Use at least PETG or better. Tested with 0.2mm layer height.

  • Grid:

    • Use your slicer to customize the infill pattern and density for a unique look. I used Honeycomb pattern at ~20% Infill. Or remix your own pattern into the STEP-file.

    • This part has an orientation. Align the tongue and groove and make sure the flat side is facing up when inserting it into the paused Body print.

  • Body and Insert:

    • -

  • Gasket:

    • Must be printed in TPU, 0.2mm layerheight

Assembly:
  1. Secure the blower fan to the Body, use M3x8 screws and nuts.

  2. Guide the cable through the cable duct.

  3. Insert your filter into the Insert and place the bar into its cutout.

  4. Attach the Body to the back of your Prusa Core One

  5. Slide the Insert assembly into the Body.

I appreciate feedback.

Changelog:

07.11.25: Added spacer, exchanged screws for 4x M3x10 instead of 4x M3x8 for assembly.

12.01.26: Reworked, added M4 Versions

24.01.26: Added a bevel to Bar.
