This project was a design challenge to create a kitchen drying rack that was both completely modular and strong enough to hold heavy cookware. The result is a simple, interlocking system that can be expanded to fit any counter space.
Key Design Features:
- Infinitely Modular System: The bases are designed to connect to each other lengthwise or sideways, allowing you to create a drying rack of any size or shape.
- Heavy-Duty Construction: The components were designed with strength in mind, making the rack sturdy enough to support the weight of heavy pots and cast iron pans.
- Simple & Secure Assembly: The design consists of just two unique parts (a base and a drying piece) that slot together securely without the need for glue.
To create a single rack, you will need to print two of each component provided in the file (two bases, two drying pieces). It can fit on one plate if you arrange it as I show. Obviously if you have a different size of plate, you might have to adjust.
