This is a low profile (4mm thick) wall mount for displates or other magnetic posters. It holds them exceptionally well.

I had issues with the original Displate magnets staying on my walls, so I designed this low-profile mount to fix that.
It’s 4 mm thick, so the plates are as flush to the wall as they can be, and by using foam grip tape the posters won’t slide off over time.
Parts:
- 9 × 12×3 mm neodymium magnets
- 2 × 100 mm strips of Festool 485724 FS-HU Adhesive Cushion Strip (or any other 20 × 3 mm foam tape)
- 1 to 6 × 4.0 mm screws and wall plugs
The tape I’ve used comes from my carpentry hobby. Festool use it on the underside of their plunge saw tracks, and it seriously grips on to anything — absolutely perfect for this case. It is a little pricey since you can only buy it in 10 m lengths, but it’s super useful to have around. Though you should be able to get away with any other tape of similar dimensions (20 mm wide, 3 mm deep).
The magnets have a pretty close fit for me. I suggest adding some glue in the bottom of each recess — I use E6000 Adhesive, but super glue should work just as well.
