If you are using one of the inexpensive 3D scanners like the POP/POP2. They have a Feature scanning mode that uses the uniqueness of the object to stitch the individual frame scans into a full 3D model. Unfortunately, it will not work with geometric shapes like cones, spheres, cylinders. By throwing several of these small pyramids randomly into the scanning scene, it will allow it to work.
