This design is my latest attempt at making an easy to set up (and take down), top down, animation stand for an iPad. I do a lot of stop motion animation with my elementary school students and Ive made several designs in the past that all took way to long to deploy when I have 18 kids in a class making animated projects.
This version is the easiest and quickest to set up so far, it simply slides on top of the extended metal bar of an Irwin brand Quick Grip clamp. We have lots of these in my lab and it creates a sturdy enough platform for a student to easily set up their project and start doing top down stop motion animation.
The stand is designed for a 12" Irwin quick grip clamp and allows for a viewable area roughly the size of a tabloid size piece of paper (for nice backgrounds).
I designed this on the same program I teach my students, TinkerCAD 🙈 but so far its getting the job done much faster and easier than previous versions Ive made.
