This is a locking vault box which uses a gear with locking lugs to secure the top to the base. Print one of each file (select either the “geared” or “plain” top, or modify to your liking.)
This works straight off the printer and requires no post processing. I'd recommend using tree supports only for the slots in the base for the locking lugs to ensure a good fit.
The “tightness” of the box can be adjusted by shimming the lug gear. It should be pretty tight as is.
Assembly:
- Attach lug gear to top using the bolt
- Insert top + lug gear into base
- Turn key clockwise to lock, counterclockwise to open
