A simple tool to hold 2x1mm magnets and put them where thy are needed. Works for David Kingsman's split flap display

Insert the magnet in the hole, glue it in place if it's a bit loose. Then, you can attach another magnet to the one in the holder to insert it where you want it.
This should work for 2mm x 2mm magnets also, but I haven't tried it.
