Overview
This filter is designed to be a more affordable yet equally capable alternative to Prusa’s offering. It stands out from other designs in several key ways:
🌀 It uses a centrifugal fan—just like Prusa’s—to ensure consistent airflow and compatibility with Core One’s automatic control system.
🧼 The filter module, which includes both HEPA and activated carbon elements, is easily replaceable. Activated carbon can slowly release trapped gases over time, so this design lets you remove and "recharge" the filter outside the enclosure without disconnecting the fan.
🧲 It mounts magnetically. The printer’s screws act as anchor rods but don’t thread into the filter itself. Sealing foam ensures minimal leakage.
This design is inspired by the "Vento" filter, which is why the BOM is similar. You can use it without the centrifugal fan like Vento, but in that case, Vento might be the simpler choice.
Update:

- Widely available on Amazon
- I bought this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0782T7L6P?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_titleActivated carbon pellets
- Any pellets will do. They're used as fish tank filter
- I bought this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002AQKIO?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title Or just take some out the fish tank. The fish won't miss itSealing foam tape (5mm wide, 2mm thick)

- I may upload versions for other magnet sized later.superglue for magnet
M3 screws (x2)
- Ideally 20mm or longer, but shorter should still be fine. The magnet should do most of the work. This fan: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DN5SLQ2X?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
- It's the cheapest 4 wires fan of this kind. The fan mounting piece is separate, and I uploaded the step file if you want to remake it for other fans
- Electrically, any 24V less than 1 A fan would workMolex 4-wire Clik-Mate 1.5mm connector
- This is the worst part of the build. I think Molex paid Prusa to use this unicorn of a plug
Where to get that damn Molex connector
Just buy the connector
- Digikey sells them for ~$2.60 each. Alliexpress has cheaper options.Buy a fan from Prusa and cannibalize the connector
- The $10 chamber fan use the same connectorDesolder and replace it
- It's on the $42 xbuddy extension board not the $130 xbuddy board
- It's surface-mount, so you'll need a microscope and steady hands.
- I used a 4 pin JST connector. Took some bending but it worked.Be me
- I bought the $10 fan since I needed something else from Prusa
- Drop the fan while connected
- The fan ripped the connector clean off the board
- Ended up soldering anyway
- I advise against being me. In general.
How to print the screen:
Split the filter to parts in slicer. The screen is it's own model
Use this technique for mesh: https://youtu.be/DaU8-2XadIE?si=SgQYB7GoQR1e3zGS&t=185
I used gyroid infill
Assemble:
Refer to the photos for guidance.
Insert M3 screws from inside the printer
Mount the fan using the two long M4 screws it came with. If they're too long, add a nut near the head (see photo).
Superglue the magnets in place.
No sealing foam needed between the two parts—the filter itself seals the gap.
Don't drop the fan. Seriously.
I'm sick of typing so here are more photos
