This is a solid battery mod for the Panasonic Q so you can swap batteries easily when it dies. The current method to desolder the old battery and use a like-for-like replacement; that's not ideal cause the pads on these PCBs are beyond fragile.  One time battery removal, solder 2 wires to this mod and you're done.  I tried to make it as easy as possible and cheap as possible by using a retail CR2032 battery holder, which has its own on/off switch.  Hope everyone can enjoy the mod.

Required:
1 - retail CR2032 holder. I used these: https://a.co/d/fIHMsnW
3 - m2 threaded inserts, 4mm height or less.
3 - m2 countersink 6mm screws
2 - 28awg wires for the battery (I didn't measure length, but that's easy enough to figure out).

General Steps to install mod

  1. Desolder the old battery
  2. Print the 2 3d files
  3. solder the 2 wires to the CR2032 holder first
  4. install the threaded inserts to the brace
  5. put the brace on the battery holder. It should be semi-snug with it fitting over the switch.
  6. Place the battery holder into the base. The positive wire will route underneath (you'll see it in the print)
  7. install the 3 m2 countersink screws to secure the brace to the base.
  8. shove the wires into the wire guides as shown in the main photo.  28awg should be perfect (hopefully for everyone…).
  9. Place the completed holder over the 2 posts. You'll see how it sits in one of the photos.
  10. route the wires around and then solder to the 2 points.  Make sure you get the positive and negative correct.
  11. install battery and make sure the switch is to the ON position.
  12. reassemble and reinstall.  You are now done.
