Parametric Blocking Board

I created a parametric blocking board which is perfect for stretching crochet granny squares.

Download the files, open in Fusion360, go to Modify > Change parameters and adapt to your needs :)

Parameters for the board

• board_size – The dimensions of the board (default: 180mm)
• board_thickness – The thickness of the board (default: 7mm)
• margin – The outer margin between board edge and first hole (default: 10mm)
• hole_size – The size of the holes (default: 10mm)
• holes_x / holes_y – The number of holes per row/column (default: 8)
• fillet – For creating a rounded edge (default: 4mm)

!! Any other parameters are not meant to be modified.

Parameters for the peg

• hole_size – This is the size of the holes on your board
• base_size – The size of the “foot” of the peg, prevents slipping out of the board and also provides better support for printing
• diameter – Diameter of the stick itself
• height – Height of the stick
• board_thickness – The thickness of your board, needed for the height of the peg's base
• fillet – Rounded top
• offset – Small decrease of the width of the base to make sure it fits in the holes, might need to be adjusted depending on your printer, for mine 0.25mm worked perfectly fine and the pegs have a snug fit in my board

Parameters for the stabilizing plate

This plate is used to stabilize longer pegs in between to keep them from bending inwards. Test printed it with 4mm thickness and I think this can be decreased even more :) 

• board_size – The dimensions of the base board (default: 180mm)
• margin – The outer margin you used for your base board (default: 10mm)
• board_hole_size – The size of the holes on your base board (default: 10mm)
• board_holes_x / board_holes_y – The number of holes per row/column on your base board (default: 8)
• peg_diameter – The diameter of your pegs
• peg_diameter_offset – Small increase of the diameter of the holes to make sure the pegs fit through, might need to be adjusted depending on your printer
• plate_thickness – The thickness of the plate (default: 5mm)
• edge_fillet – Rounding of the edges
• corner_fillet – Rounding of the corners
