I was ‘remodeling’ the extruder on my Dragonburner for my Voron 0.2 again (seems like a monthly thing these days) and decided to go with a Sherpa Mini extruder. I realised I needed a mount to get my BTT EBB36 v1.2 on it, and something to attach the CANbus umbilical. That reminded me of an excellent mount for the Orbiter 2.0 I had on it before, designed by @niefachowy, which worked very well indeed.

So, I ‘remade’ it, from scratch, to fit my Sherpa Mini extruder. The BOM:

  • 5x ‘Voron style’ heat inserts (M3x4x5)
  • 2x M3x14 BHCS. They need to be slightly longer than those that hold the stepper to the Sherpa. They have to extend beyond the ears of the stepper. You might need adjust to your situation.
  • 2x M3x8 SHCS. These are to mount the EBB to the mount itself
  • 1x M3x8 FHCS. This is used to screw the ‘neck’ that holds the umbilical in place to the main mount.
  • 2x tie rip to tie the umbilical to the neck

Print in a heat resistant filament like ABS or ASA, with or without CF or GF, using 3 walls, top and bottom layers, and 20% infill. No special settings necessary for me, but YMMV.
