At the request of a friend I looked at the design of this case. Brilliant as it was when he described the power handling I felt that the addition of air vents below the PCB would be a good move, and therefore that some feet would be needed to lift the unit up. I designed these very simply in OpenSCAD to be printed in black 95A TPU.
I also observed that the button design in a single unit was good but thought that TPU would add something, and while I was there used Prusa Slicer to print in two colours (see picture) to add contrast.
It was also noticeable that the almost ‘bare’ unit had an exposed fan, asking for someone to drop a screwdriver in or worse a finger. I used actual measurement and Zachar's excellent complete unit file to design a cowl to surround the fan shroud, to be printed in ABS as two parts and glued together, and fixed to the Atorch unit under the anti-vibration springs.
I printed both case parts in PETG, the feet and buttons in TPU and the safety grille in ABS. I used Prusa Slicer and my Prusa Core One with its standard high-flow 0.4mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.2mm except for the feet, where the curved parts that touch the table were graded down to 0.08mm and the grille itself which was printed with a 0.1mm layer height.
Great original design from Zachar and as the pictures show a really nice project. Enjoy. Polymath.
