*** This is a large model and will not print on a smaller machine like a Core One.

The Idea

We recently added a Nespresso Essenza machine to our collection of coffee-making gadgets. First thing was to look for something to store the cups but I didn't find anything that was exactly what I wanted.

My requirements included keeping the sleeves in which the Original cups come so I can easily read what's inside (the colors of the cups don't mean anything to me). Which led me to @Mintax_103293's dispenser, which became the starting point of my design.

I was also inspired by the Lazy Susan-style herb rack in our kitchen and wanted something similar––a dispenser that displays the capsule sleeves on a rotating base.

The final design holds 6 sleeves of Original Nespresso cups. Open the sleeves at the perforation and slide them into the  dispenser socket units upside down. Guide the sleeves down with a finger in the socket cutout, to keep the cups from falling out. Once in place, just pull out a cup and brew yourself a nice coffee.

Solution

You will need a large volume printer such as a Prusa XL to print the model. I still had to cut the central handle in two to make it fit into the available vertical space.

Hardware required
Printing

I used the Prusaslicer Speed profile with infill changed to 15% cubic. For the main unit, supports are needed for the recess in the base that holds the turntable. See 3mf file.

Print the top part of the handle separately. The STL has built-in break-away supports to stabilize it.

You also need four washers. I used random metal ones I had lying around but I also uploaded a simple washer model if you want to print them yourself.

Assembly

Remove any supports from the base of the carousel and the top of the handle.

Install the turntable in the base of the carousel using the washers and #8 screws. See photo. I found it useful to add a bit of WD40 to the turntable bearings.

Put a bit of CA super glue on the handle and slide the top of the handle onto the lower part that's part of the carousel.

Be mindful, this is a 3D printed handle/central rod. Don't jerk it around too much or it will break. Maybe I'll replace it with a metal rod in a future version.
