Summary

This is a remix of the Core One's filament sensor that adds a disengagement mechanism, similar to the one found on the newer Core One L.

The Problem: The standard sensor's steel ball makes loading flexible filaments (like TPU) nearly impossible.

The Solution: This remix adds a small compartment for a 2-position snapping switch. This switch acts as a lever to push the sensor's lever up and moving the steel ball out of the way, allowing flexibles to be loaded easily.

It has two positions:

  • Engaged: (Normal operation for rigid filaments)
  • Disengaged: (For loading flexible filaments)

The snapping switch gives a very satisfying tactile "click" when toggled.

🛠 Bill of Materials (BOM)

  • Uses all original hardware from the filament sensor (no new screws or inserts needed).
  • The 2 printed parts from this download.

🖨 Print Settings

  • Material: PETG or ASA recommended.
  • Settings: Use standard Prusa-recommended settings (e.g., 0.2mm layer height, 15% infill, etc.).
  • Supports: No

🔧 Assembly

  1. Print the two parts from this file.
  2. Assemble the sensor exactly as the original, using all the original hardware.
  3. Insert the printed switch into its slot in the printed housing.
