DMS Open Omega Flat print Remix

A modification of the DMS Omega cup design to optimise it for printing on an FDM printer, as well as reinforcing the 3.5mm port opening and headband openings. 

The design has been split into 4 parts, each part can be printed flat on the printer bed without the need for supports. This orientation allows for faster printing times, less filament usage, better surface finish and a stronger structure with lower print failure risk. 

The three main parts of the cup can be screwed together using m3 countersunk screws, these will bite into the material directly.

The brim (Part 4) was designed to be attached to the cup with the same adhesive as the steel mesh with a slight overlap of the brim and mesh.

I have created some custom yokes that will work with the Omega's and the Capra headband. Print the 104mm version, put some m3 heatpress inserts in the middle holes on the omega cups and screw the yokes in after applying loctite. The stock rotation limiter will not fit in this configuration.


The measurements provided compare against the stock model, bear in mind this is a custom measuring rig, so it isn't comparable to anything else other than results taken on itself. The results are pretty much identical for most of the frequency range with a small spike in the upper treble on the flat print model. The same pads were used, however the driver is different, so this could potentially be either down to the model or a driver variance.
