These are Bases/Holders for Pi Zeros and Pi 2/3/4/5's. The clips slight deformation allows for a snug snap fitment and is a cool way to show off your collection.
I also like to prototype around them and have an easy way to insert a pi into my designs that doesn't require screwing it down.
It's less of a necessity and more of a fun way to flavour projects or just display. I do a lot of rapid prototyping so it is nice to be able to take a pi in and out of a project with relative ease.
Where this might shine a tad more is wall mounting. That is a part I need to design. You can install a Base onto the wall and then the Pi can slide onto it.
