Automatic disinfectant dispenser for the toilet tank - with each flush, the device dispenses a small amount of disinfectant into the toilet tank, which keeps both the tank itself clean and the toilet area better cleaned.
Parts
main body (disinfection tank)
main body cover (not important for function)
float arm with closing tip (closes the disinfection outlet)
float
I prepared two types of floats - basic for higher water level, extended for lower water level)
every float has three levels of water level adjustment
fixing screw
there are 3 options for the height of the dispenser in the toilet tank
insert
I have prepared several types of inserts that can be used depending on the disinfectant used, the amount of dispenser and the seal used
basis - small drain hole, for defined rubber seal (diameter 9 mm, height 4 mm, hole diamater 4,5 mm) - for a sparse disinfectant or for smaller dosages
basis+ - larger drain hole, for defined rubber seal (diameter 9 mm, height 4 mm, hole diamater 4,5 mm)
universal - you can use your rubber seal (according to your experience with disinfectant)
Function
when the toilet is flushed, the water level in the toilet tank drops.
the dispenser float will drop, opening a slot from which the disinfectant will flow out.
as soon as water flows into the toilet tank again, the dispenser float rises and closes the slot.
there is now a small amount of disinfectant in the toilet tank, which will clean the area more thoroughly the next time you flush.
Recommended dispenser
I use Bref WC Hygiene Gel / Domestos.
you can try other brands of disinfectant that will not damage the body and seal of the dispenser. Depending on your experience and the amount of the dose, try other types of insert.
Reccomended print settings
material PETG, ASA, PC or and others that are waterproof (not PLA)
3 perimeters, layer height 0,2 mm
main body (print to make waterproof)
for lower parts (where is a thread) I reccomend 0,1 mm layer height, not aligned seams
for fixing screw thread consider using supports
float (print to make waterproof)
5 % infill (the lightest reliable possible in the slicer option, in Prusa Slicer Lightning, Support cubic,…), 6 top horizontal solid layers
use a basis supports for locks
instert
0,1 mm layer height
fixing screw
0,15 mm layer height
float arm - use a basis supports (be careful when removing the supports after printing - the arm is relatively fragile)
First use recommendation
test the float if it is waterproof (by submerging it in water for a few hours)
test the reliability of the closing tip on the float arm (attach the float arm to the main body, screw on a suitable insert with a seal, fill the disinfectant into the dispenser tank, place the entire assembly on a flat surface and check for leaks)
then open the closing tip and watch whether the disinfectant slowly drips out
test the position of the dispenser body in the toilet tank, including the freedom of movement of the float arm
for easier installation, lubricate the inserts with silicone oil
