My wife's Singer Heavy Duty spool holder snapped off and needed replacement. She uses a lot of different sized and styled spools of specialty thread and often would have to respool them onto smaller spools to be compatible with her machine. I thought I'd make the replacement piece an upgrade and have various sized spool holders that twist and click into place.
The three sizes of spools are:
Large: meant for larger, straight spools often found in heavy-duty specialty threads like sailing thread or leatherwork thread
Medium: meant for cone-style spools
Small: original sized spool holder for standard small spools
Printed these with some leftover PLA we had laying around. That's why they're different colors, using up some filament from other projects. If you wanted to make them sturdier I am sure another material would work well, but they feel quite secure as is.
Infill was 12%
Support critical regions only, on build plate only
The base is held on by a M6 bolt and nut fastened to the backside of the panel
