That one is a rather very specific model - a flip frame card holder for two badges. Prints in place, no assembly required - or possible.

The problem: our (new, at that time) office required two badges. One as the general company badge - visual ID, clocking in/out, access control at all other office locations. The other is specific to our office location and opens the doors here (business park with an incompatible access control system). Even that wouldn't usually be a problem - you just stack the cards and let the reader pick out the one it wants to use, right?

Nope, doesn't work here. The reader is too cheap to be able to pick the right access card - if it detects more than one card, it simply refuses to let you in. First attempts with some aluminium foil between the two cards in the same holder also failed.

So I had to design this flip frame. Closed, and held in place with two magnets, it's the same size as a (very thick) single badge holder. Open it up, and you can present the correct access card to the reader without getting it confused by the other card.

Print it lying flat, with some support under the tabs and perhaps for the magnet pouch. Afer printing, remove the supports and glue in a couple of 6x2 mm magnets (preferrably N52) into the pouches. It's a tight fit, but in >20 prints I haven't yet broken a pouch beyond useability. Take care of the magnet orientation…
