I'm not a huge fan of Power Pole connectors. They're nice but I find them rather large for what they do. Also since I fly RC I have a TON of 3S Lipos hanging around which use XT60s.
So here's a quick and easy mod to the Xiegu G90 to remove the Power Pole and install a XT60. This will likely NOT work on the older radios what have the weird white 2 pin plug.
To mod:
- Remove the face plate
- Remove the top cover.
- Remove the screws holding the PCB in place and move the PCB to the side (you will likely need to snap off the UFL connector on the back)
- Remove the 2 screws holding the Power Pole connector in place.
- Snip the wires as close to the Power Pole as possible.
- Insert the XT60 plug into the printed part (it is a very tight fit. I used a vise to assist…but if your tolerances seem low you may need some super glue)
- Solder the XT60 into place.
- Bolt everything back together.
VERY IMPORTANT
You will need a specific style of XT60 Male Plug. The ones with the rounded ends will not fit. Look for the plugs that have the angular exterior and the large “XT60” badge on them. Something like these:

As a bonus, the G90 fan accessory uses the exact same mounting plate so you can print 2 and completely convert it over to XT60!
