The axle housing needs to be empty to use these. Make 2 outer plugs for each end of the axle tube and the inner plugs go where the carrier bearings would sit. All parts are tapered to account for housing differences but due to this you will need to make sure they are perpendicular to their mounting surface, otherwise readings could be off. Run a string between the 2 outer plugs and insert the inner ones to see if the string passes through the center. Different diameter inner plugs are provided for different levels of precision. Edit: The 15mm plug is likely unnecessary since with my experience, bends that touch the sides of the 10mm plug can be seen with your eye by looking through the housing.
