This model has two options per skirt. The first option is to download the non-modifier step file for the skirt and you can paint the inlay for hexagon a different color in the slicer. This creates a solid color inside of the hexagon.
The other option is to import the non-modifier step file, then right click on it, select add modifier and select the file of the same name but with MODIFIER at the end. From here, navigate to object mode and select the modifier object attached to the model. Now we need to set the following options on the modifier:
- Change the filament color
- Wall loops: 1
- Top shell layers: 0
- Bottom shell layers: 0
- Sparse infill Density: 25% (or to whatever you think looks good)
- Sparse infill pattern: Honeycomb (more hexagons here, or change to whatever you think looks good)
- Sparse infill direction: 30 (this matches the hexagons in the step file, feel free to adjust to your liking)
Experiment all you want with infill options and wall loops. The only thing you need to leave be are shell layers. If either of these is > 0 it'll cover up the infill and you lose the effect.
