Assembly and patience required. An odd number of infinity cubes is just wrong, so I felt obliged to add number 165.

I printed the most popular infinity cube on pintables, Yet Another Fidget Infinity Cube v2 by Austin Vojta | Download free STL model | Printables.com
Once printed I got obsessed with making my own and proposed to myself that wanted a more sturdy one, so made one assembling it with pieces of filament. It was sturdy indeed, took a lot of time to assemble and like all new designs, suffered from first iteration issues. The swivel corners were not chamfered enough and created interference on turning.
So as you do, I investigated and discovered 164 infinity cubes on printables, with the most popular one being downloaded 107k times and the least popular one 4 times. The one in a shop seems to have no downloads. What a surprise with 163 free versions.
It's much more interesting getting into the design of it than only printing it and appreciating what went into it initially.
The most popular one is also the oldest, so fair play, the original idea wins in this case. It was uploaded in April 2019 and has over 2,100 makes. The next most popular is 10k downloads and was published in April 2022. There is no correlation between age, profile score, followers and the winning design. The dynamics of a winning design is bizarre. Success seems unpredictable and truly random, although consistent effort seems to pay off.
So with my latest useless creation competing with 164 other models doing exactly the same thing, let's see what the 3D printing gods have in the future for infinity cube # 165.
Assembly

The model is designed to be assembled with a piece of print filament. The hole size is 2mm and the filament is 1.75. the outside holes are 1.75 so the filament doesn’t fall out. I then cut it with a Stanley knife to be flush once inserted and added a tiny drop of superglue to ensure they stay in place.
