This is a good base shape object for popular NEIKO 6 inch Calipers sold on Amazon and other places. The intent is that this can be used to model storage containers like Gridfinity or Shadow Foam.
I have included the STEP file which I recommend using to add your clearance or other adjustments for your needs.
This model has been printed and tested for accuracy. There is a model of the calipers with no padding so you can use this to design your own holders. Also included are two cutout shapes, a negative and positive in STL format. These cutout shapes have added a 0.5 mm margin to the calipers and I test fit the calipers into the shape. This is the smallest recommended tolerance and if your printer tends to over extrude or have some dimensional inaccuracies you might want to add extra tolerances.
*A previous version of the model had a few mistakes. This should be quite good now.
