Filament Sample Spool
These filament spools have fold-away pins to easily load an already wound filament sample by simply pushing it on from the side, then folding up the pins to hold it in place. This remix adds a label holder to keep track of which filament is wound on it. The label holder should work with the single as well as the double slot versions, I only tried it with the double slot.
Label Details
The labels are held in place by transparent plastic covers, approx. 0.5~0.6mm thick. I cut them from the side of a large Tic Tac box (see last photo). The required size for the cover is 35x19mm (the label itself can be smaller), or you can use labels on stiff cardboard without a cover.
Print Details
I used different print settings from the original, mostly for speed. All parts were printed in PETG with a 0.4mm nozzle (PLA should also work).
filament_spool_disk_with_label.stl (print 2x):
0.30mm DRAFT profile, variable layer height, infill 20% rectilinear.
Filament_Spool_Fork.stl (print 5x for single-slot version) or
Filament_Spool_Dual_Fork.stl (print 5x for two-slot version):
0.20mm SPEED profile, variable layer height, (default infill: 15% grid).
Filament_Spool_Spike.stl (print 5x for single-slot or 10x for two-slot version):
0.20mm SPEED profile, variable layer height, infill 20% rectilinear.
