This system allows you to quickly change which nozzle each AMS supplies on the Bambu Labs H2D. I have access to the back of my H2D and wanted a quick change solution that mounted to the rear of the printer. The single base mounts using 3 - 3x12mm screws and supports up to 8 AMS units, 4 to each nozzle. The add on base doubles that for those mad lads that maxed out the 4 AMS and 8 AMS HT units the H2D supports. Also included is a PTFE cutting guide for the two lengths of tubing required.
Hardware required
PC4-M10 - 8 for each base and 1 for each AMS
M3x12 button head screws - Qty 7 for one base 14 for two
M3x8 button head screws - Qty 1 for each base
Bambu 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter - 2 for each base
10x2 round magnets - 16 for each base and 2 for each AMS or 10x4 magnets - 8 for each base and one for each AMS. I had 10x2 magnets on hand and doubled them up.
PTFE tube - 486mm per base and extra if using both bases
CA Glue.
2-1 PTFE adapter - Qty 2 only if using the second base
Assembly
Each AMS tab will get a 10x4 magnet or 2 10x2 magnets glued into the bottom and one PC4-M10 connector threaded into the side. Make sure the magnets are all positioned in the same polarity.
The bases each get magnets glued into the bottom of the AMS tab sockets. Again make sure to have the polarity of the magnets match up with the tabs. Eight PC4-M10 connectors will get threaded into the output side of the AMS tab sockets. Place one 4-in-1 PTFE adapter in the right socket with the mounting tab towards the bottom and secure it with the M3x8 screw. Place the second 4-in-1 adapter into the left side socket with the mounting tab towards the top and secure it with an M3x12 screw. Using the PTFE tube cutting guide, cut 4 sections of tube to 120mm length, and 4 sections to 123mm length. The 123mm tubes will go in the two outer PC4-M10 connectors to the bottom two spots on the 4-in-1 adapter. The 120mm tubes will go from the two center PC4-M10 connectors to the top two spots on the 4-in-1 adapter.
To mount the first base to the back of the H2D, remove three screws from the back of the H2D, you'll have to look at the pictures to see which screws. Use three M3x12 screws to secure the base to the H2D. If you want to use both bases, use three more M3x12 screws to secure the second base to the top of the first.
If using one base, attach PTFE tubing from the base to the correct nozzle input on the back of the H2D. If using two bases you will need to connect a 2-1 adapter from the top and bottom left side to the left nozzle input, and a 2-1 adapter from the top and bottom right sides to the right nozzle input.
AMS tabs will get attached to the PTFE tubing coming from the AMS units. Match up the letter on the tab with the AMS assigned that letter in Bambu Studios. Slide the AMS tab into a socket corresponding with the desired nozzle.
