RackRiser - Desk Rack and Shelf

Combining the best of desk risers and mini racks, this system allows you to mount any of your mini rack equipment and accessories into a riser/shelving system on your desktop. Compatible with both 10in and 19in systems - all you need to do is space the risers accordingly. Each riser is designed to stack securely on top of another, allowing for easy expansion of the system.

Currently this is being designed for a 230x18mm wood plank that is easily sourced locally in NZ, as well as a US standard 9.25"x0.7" plank. 2U is the standard design, but 3U and 4U versions are also included. The nut bars are designed for square M6 nuts to friction fit, but can be modified for any mounting hardware that fits in the gap.

"Lite" version available with 2U riser only.

Included:

• 2U, 3U and 4U double and single sided risers in NZ and US plank sizes

• 2U and 3U nut bars for mounting

Additional materials:

• 230x18mm or 9.75"x0.75" wood plank, cut to preferred length

• M6 square nuts w/ matching bolts

Slicer settings (highly recommended):

• Support → Type: Normal (Snug)

• Support → Interface Spacing: 1-2mm

Design optimized for PLA on an Elegoo Centauri Carbon. Build plate dimensions of 256x256mm recommended.

12/06/26 - Design moved out of alpha

I've been working on a few of the road map items in the background, and have had trouble getting them to an acceptable level of quality and ease of use. I've made the decision to transition the pack as it exists into a full release. This does not mean that it will not get future updates, it just means that I will no longer be actively working it. That being said, I have a couple things I want to get sorted - improving global compatibility for lumber is one.

Thank you to the people that have purchased this kit - it has been awesome to have my work valued like this. I hope to one day see some makes of this design!

Road map deprecated as priorities are re-established:

• Riser blanking for empty units

• Desk accessories - shelving, drawers, phone mounting, hooks

• Linkages and desk clamps for stable vertical expansion

13/01/26 - Design update to v05.2:

• Resolved generation issue for foot and support structure, causing incorrect slicing.

• Added M6 hex nut mounting bar, plus additional blank bar for custom solutions.

28/12/25 - Point update to v05.1:

• Resolved missing mounting slots on the single sided US riser models (2U, 3U, 4U).

15/12/25 - Design updated to v05:

• New hollow foot for anti-slip silicon feet (2x 10mm diameter) . NOTE: dimensions have changed for the feet, will retain these new dimensions moving forward.

• Added a US standard lumber option - accommodates 9.25"x0.7" planks

• Added a screw hole in the top recess to allow for more permanent mounting.

• Adjusted nut bar position within the design to provide better strength on the front face of the riser.

• Deprecated the single width riser due to strength issues. Replaced with single sided, double width riser.
