This dust protector wraps around the gap under the Core One L side panels with an angle to divert anything away from the edge.

  • Each section uses two 6x3 mm round magnets which press fit in the sections.  These have to go on the arms to get close enough to the outer frame since the bottom and side panels are aluminum.

  • The rear section needs to be cut to fit on the plate.  I used a very small dovetail, but it wasn't clean enough to include in the stl file.

  • The rear section also wraps around the cables rather than following the metal panel.

  • The code isn't pretty, but it should be straight forward enough if anyone doesn't like my measurements.

  • I generated the OpenSCAD using OpenSCAD (Nightly) version 2025.09.02 and The Belfry OpenScad Library (BOSL) 1.0.3.  (Thanks to @bkerler_919019 for pointing out this apparently doesn't work right in the 2021.1 stable release.  https://openscad.org/downloads.html#snapshots)

The example is printed in Numakers ASA Burnt Orange using the 0.2 mm Speed profile.

v0.2 added 2025-12-21

  • OpenSCAD - Added a variable for the distance to the magnet.

  • Adjusted the length of the right side a smidge.

  • Shifted the magnets on the right side to be a little further in for a better hold.  It's possible that it might work without the magnet, but I haven't tested it.

  • Regenerated the stl files so hopefully they are correct.  (Thanks to @bkerler_919019 for pointing out I messed it up.  )
