BLISTER PILL POPPER

This 3D-printed blister pack tool is designed to help people who struggle with pushing tablets out of blister packs – such as seniors, people with weak hand strength, or anyone who experiences discomfort from repetitive motions.

The tool uses a simple two-lever mechanism to release tablets with minimal effort, and the removable tablet cup keeps everything clean and organized.

It works with standard blister packs, including both tablets and capsules.

This tool makes tablet extraction easier, cleaner, and much more comfortable — especially for those who need a simple and gentle way to handle daily medication.

MATERIALS NEEDED

  • 3D-printed parts (all model components)

  • Super glue (CA glue) – for securing the hinge pin and pill cup

  • Hobby glue (all-purpose glue) – for assembling the remaining parts

CUP OPTIONS

This model includes two compatible pill cup sizes:

  • Small cup (recommended): approx. 10 ml

  • Large cup: approx. 20 ml

Both cups fit the model and function the same way. Choose your preferred size before assembly, as the cup becomes permanently fixed once glued in place.

PRINTING

  • Material: PLA is recommended for the body.

  • The tablet cup can optionally be printed in clear PETG for a translucent look.

  • Layer height: 0.2 mm

  • Infill: 10% is sufficient.

For the star at the bottom of the cup (see image 6), I used Octagram Spiral for the top fill pattern and bottom fill pattern in PrusaSlicer/AnycubicSlicer.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS (See image 3 for assembly reference)

1. Insert the pill cup - Use super glue (CA glue) to secure the hinge pin.

  1. Slide the pill cup into the recess underneath the bottom section.

  2. Glue one of the small plugs onto the hinge pin.

2. Install the hinge pin

  1. Insert the hinge pin through the cup and the bottom part.

  2. Glue the pin to the small flap on the cup, then glue on the second plug to prevent rattling.

Warning: Avoid getting any glue inside the hinge area to ensure smooth movement.

3. Attach the main parts - Use hobby glue for all remaining assembly steps.

  1. Attach the bottom part and the presser to the body.

Note:  Make sure they slide fully into place for optimal alignment during use.

4. Optional: Add the decorative details

These details are not required for functionality, but they enhance the appearance.

  1. Use hobby glue to attach them in their designated spots.

5. Let everything cure

  1. Allow all glue to fully cure before using the pill popper.
