This is my implementation of a RMP for my A320-style home cockpit.

As ususal my rules are:
- print more, buy less
- all modules must be “one block”

See also my overall home cockpit approach … https://www.printables.com/model/1245608-main-pedestal-and-my-flusi-box-work-in-progress

One more rule:
- despite the most other designs i do not use 3 panes (front, button holder, back) and no PCB.
Furthermore i only print one front pane and try to solder all buttons, leds etc. directly to the wires, which i connect over JST-XHP connectors to an Arduino Mega running Mobilfight.

The displays come from Mobiflight and are connected over the Breakout System Board.
Mount it with the Display Holder from the other side of the plate you are mounting the whole module to. The size etc. is for a 6mm plywood plate.

Assembling and Soldering after printing all parts

  • Turn the front plate up side down and place all button caps into the correct holes

  • Place the buttons and the 3mm-LEDs in the Button and LED Holder and bend all pins that they cannot fall out

  • Place the Holder on the backside of the front plate and take care that all LEDs are poking through  "their" holes and fix it with 4 M2x8 screws and nuts

  • Now bend the pins back to face straight upwards and solder all GND-Pins together and a wire to each signal pin

The rest of the mounting is straight forward and shouldn't be a problem.

To fix the Lid over the NAV button you can use a stiff wire and bend the ends.
You can also use another solution which is more beautiful.
E.g. i close one hole outside with a small piece of filemant and a solder iron, push the wire thru the other side and close this as well with PLA and solder iron.
The holders for the lid are too small to make a stable (!) 1,75mm hole in it to use a color eqaual piece of PLA.

Electronics and logic is made with Arduino and Mobiflight.

BOM

For the buttons i use 6x6x5 tactile buttons with two pins like these: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07XWYHPZH

The two rotary encoder without (!) a press button are available here: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005007703777022.html

Update March, 16th., 2026

To make the look a little better, i today printed the buttons with a 0,2mm noozle and white filament, painted them afterwards with black nail polish (it's drying pretty fast) and finally grinded the top layer carefully.
This let the white letters come out clearly.

Update July, 18th., 2026

Replaced the front panel and all the buttons with 3MF-Files which was created in Bambu Studio.
The height of the letters were reduced and the 3MF-profile is ready for multi material printing.
If you need the STL open it either in Bambu Studio or https://3dviewer.net/ and export it from there.
