Ah, the "Christmas Pickle" (or Weihnachtsgurke). The ancient German tradition that… well, actual Germans had never heard of until the internet told them about it.

I remixed this model specifically to be as frustration-free as possible. Forget about messy overhangs or supports.

• No Supports Needed: The model is split into parts that print flat and clean. Just print everything in the provided orientation.

• Easy Assembly: The parts are designed to slot together easily. A tiny drop of glue is all you need.

How to Play

Whether you believe it’s a centuries-old custom or a brilliant marketing gag by 19th-century ornament salesmen, one thing is certain: Hiding a pickle in your Christmas tree is a ton of fun!

Hide the Pickle: Hang it deep inside the branches of your Christmas tree. It’s green, so it’s surprisingly hard to spot!

The Hunt: On Christmas morning, the first child to find the pickle gets an extra present or simple some extra good luck for the coming year.

Print Settings

• Material: PLA (Green is obvious, but feel free to print a Radioactive Pink Pickle if you want chaos or to cover it with gold spray paint for some extra glory)

• Layer Height: 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm works great

• Infill: 10-15% adaptive cubic

• Supports: NONE

• Brim: Not usually necessary unless your bed adhesion is tricky

Assembly

1. Print all parts

2. Test fit the connections

3. Apply a small amount of superglue or CA glue to the mating surfaces

4. Press together and hold for a few seconds

5. Attach a string or hook, and you're good to go
