I made this modular filament storage system for 25mm (1") wooden dowels.
There are two models, a center piece and an end piece. You will need to mirror the end piece in the slicer, so that you have both ends covered.
Alternatively you can use only the centerpiece in your build. The end pieces are mostly an aesthetic option.
The model is made with two holes for wall mounting and one vertical hole for a screw to go in the wooden dowel, keeping it securely in place.
I recommend placing the holders with a center-to-center distance of approximately 50 cm. That way you get a very sturdy construction. I printed in both PLA and PETG, and both work fine.
Print settings:
- Layer height: 0.20 (STRUCTURAL)
- Perimiters: 4
- Infill: 15%
- Fill pattern: gyroid
- Support: Everywhere (for the holes)
