Modular Wreath Backer

Wreath making is a great activity for family and friends alike. There are countless variations on the materials and colors, however, the shape has remained mostly unchanged. Whether it is made from cardboard, wire, foam or sticks, the framework behind the wreath is almost always a circle. With this modular and reusable wreath backer, you can break from convention and make truly unique wreaths, table toppers, and more!

Description:

This modular wreath backer system consists of three base pieces (straight, 90-degree, and endcap) which are connected to each other using a friction-fit bowtie clip. This enables many unique shapes/reconfiguration and endless opportunities for remixing/addons. All parts are printed without top or bottom layers to expose the infill which acts as the mesh for attaching wreath branches. Branches and ornaments can be connected either by thread or thin gauge wire (like bread or cable ties). Additionally, sections can be made individually before assembly making for easy transport and packing if needed. Finally, at the end of the season or when the branches dry out, all the decorations can be removed and the backing can be stored away compactly for next year!

Print Notes:

• Any rigid filament will work for this design (PLA works great).

• All parts are printed without top or bottom layers

• 4+ walls/parameters keep the pieces rigid enough

• Scale clip to get a secure friction fit

• All parts can fit on as small as an A1 mini (180x180mm print bed)

Assembly Notes:

• Connect the base pieces using the clips

• Attach branches and ornaments using string or bread ties/cable ties

• If needed, secure the clips by threading through the base and clip piences

• Simple as that!
