This is a remix of the Button Turn Latch by Biolumo, redesigned to fit 1/2" and 3/4" plywood. It's a low-profile, easy-to-use latch that installs on the outside of a drawer to help keep it securely closed.
I made this version to solve a long-standing issue in my camper van—my drawers would occasionally slide open due to vibration and wood movement, especially around corners. I didn’t want to take apart the drawer boxes or install anything too complex, so I adapted this twist-latch design instead.
Printed and installed the night before a trip, it turned out to be a super quick and reliable fix. Just twist to lock the drawer shut during transit, and twist again to open once you’re parked. It’s a great solution for any setup where you need a simple mechanical latch without internal modifications.
Screw Recommendations:
For the 1/2" ply version: use #4 x 3/4" screws
For the 3/4" ply version: use #6 x 3/4" or 1" screws
