The Southern Region V Class locomotive, more commonly known as the Schools Class, was designed by Richard Maunsell. A total of 40 were built between 1930 and 1935 and they were all named after English Public Schools. The model depicted is Stowe, one of the three that are preserved and running on heritage railway lines.
