I've designed this piece to work together with this MMU3 side mount, but it can be useful for all configuratons:
I didnt want to replace the pulley body as in the original solution so I've designed an attachable shield to prevent the filament pieces to enter the idler mechanism. The shield attaches itself using set of "teeth" that squeeze into the square nut holes of the pulley body.
I recommend printing on the front face with support under the teeth.
