This model is designed to work with the IKEA BILRESA smart switch while preserving an existing North American wall light switch behind it.
The cover fits over a standard toggle-style light switch, preventing it from being accidentally turned off and keeping power permanently on for smart lighting. At the same time, it provides a mounting location for the BILRESA smart switch right next to the original switch for a clean, intuitive setup. Don't worry, there's room to fit a tooth pick in if you need to turn off the switch for any reason.
This is ideal for households where guests, kids, or family members may instinctively flip the wall switch and disable smart lights.
