On my printer - DCP-T720DW - the power cable was hanging straight down due to its weight, putting constant stress on the power input socket. Over time, this could potentially loosen or damage the connector. This support sits under the power plug and takes the load off the socket, keeping everything stable and properly aligned.
The printer’s built-in strain relief does its job; this support only redirects the cable’s weight away from the power socket and onto the cable.
