Magnetic under-cupboard magsafe mount

A low-profile magsafe phone mount for under a kitchen cupboard. It folds down, rotates ~45 degrees, and tucks out of sight when not in use. It mounts magnetically to an adhesive backed metal plate that came with an under-cupboard light, making it completely removable, if desired.

The brief was to make, "A removable, hidden, magsafe mount under a cupboard, suitable to watching videos in landscape mode, that folds out of sight when not in use."

I remixed Joe Sacher's excellent model, shortening the main body and adapting the mounting mechanism to sit stable on a steel strip with a set of N46 cylinder magnets and some foam feet.

The magnets are glued onto the central mount disc that allows ~45 degrees of lateral rotation and a firm, but removable, magnetic hold. The foam feet keep the two halves of the disc mount securely mated together, and provide some shock-absorption. The mount can be posed/orientated as desired by adjusting the tension of the hinge screws. You want this tight enough to hold a phone, but not so stiff that you can't fold the mount away afterwards.

Having removed the cable retention clip from Joe's design, I did wind up having to jury-rigging something similar with a section of a rubber O-ring wrapped around the cable and inserted into the cable channel.

Printed in clear PETG, 0.4mm nozzle, 20% gyroid infil, 3 perims, organic build-plate supports. A standard Apple magsafe charger fits, as shown.
