I am doing an engine conversion and wanted a mock up block.
Found this excellent scale model on Makerworld, checked the full size dimensions and scaled it up 284.79% to be full size. I remove all the unneeded parts and then cut away large parts of the block and heads to make it quicker to print. I split the parts up into sections that would print on my K1 Max which is a 300x300x300 bed.
I designed the oil filler cap and crank pully as they weren't included in the original design. I cut the bowl of the sump away as it won't fit in my conversion, I have included the original sump as well.
In hindsight I should have staggered the cuts to make the joining easier, also when cutting away the block and heads I did it a section at a time and they aren't identical internally, makes no difference to the function.
Printed at 0.3 layer height with 10% infill and I used about 10 rolls of PLA. Some parts needed auto tree supports to print correctly.
